Hi! I’m Bonnie, I’m 21 and I’m currently in my third year of a communications degree at UQ.
Throughout my degree, I’ve always been undecided about what sort of career path I wanted to take with it, so I began looking into internships at the beginning of the semester as a way of getting some real-world experience behind me. I was super nervous on my first day, but as soon as I walked into the office the feeling completely disappeared. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and made me feel comfortable immediately.
Having no knowledge or experience about the job wasn’t a problem either; I was taught everything and had continued support throughout my whole time there. For the most part, my job consisted of creating viral content for the website and working with different advertising networks to help market them. I was taught all the ins and outs of Wordpress, SEO and advertising campaigns, while also getting the chance to be creative through brainstorming and writing interesting and funny articles.
I had the best time during my internship, and since I’ve finished, I now feel much more confident in my abilities and I have a stronger idea of different areas I may like to work in when I graduate. So if you’re looking for a fun, engaging and stimulating internship, with great people and a great Spotify playlist, then I can’t recommend the Inspire internship program enough!
